Newborn Session $175 (includes tax)

Newborn photography is the most amazing and precious photo session available. These sessions take time and patience for both the parents and the photographer. The newborn will need to be feed, be changed and need some cuddling/comforting time. Newborn sessions can be lengthy, but there is no rush. We want to take our time capture your baby in their first week or two of life. A newborn session is normally scheduled in the first seven days of life when they are the sleepiest. New parents normally contact me during their pregnancy to give me their due date and then contact me when they leave the hospital to set up the session.

Basic Session Information:
2 hour session in your home
2-3 bean bag poses (newborn alone with wraps, hats, leggings, diaper covers, naked poses)
1-2 backdrops with props (baskets, crate, suitcase, etc)
Editing of images (color correction, blemish fixes, enhancements/tones, black & white photos)
View all your images in the online gallery for 14 days with password protection and option to purchase professional lab prints

Session Prep:

I need to arrive at the baby’s sleepiest time – so keep an eye on their “new” schedule and we will figure out the best time to come (must be within great lighting times too).
We will be shooting in the room with the most available natural light so make sure the room is clear and clean.
Have that room warmed up with a space heater and/or turn your heat up so that the room temperature is nice and warm.
I will bring an electric blanket.
Try to feed baby (if schedule allows) 15 minutes or so prior to my arrival. It will take me 15 minutes to set up so the newborn should be wrapping up its feeding when I am finishing with set up.
Baby should be only in a diaper when I arrive, that way we do not have to disrupt him/her by undressing them.
Have all items that you are interested in using in the shoot out and ready for me to sort through: baskets, blankets, hats, headbands, etc.
Make sure nursery is nice and tidy, should we do photos of baby in there.
If you would like to be in images with your baby, make sure to look nice and wear colors that compliment your setting. I suggest beautiful light colors for a soft and gentle look.
I don’t have an assistant available so I may need help. It would be great if Dad is around – I don’t want Mom to be working too hard.
Be prepared for explosions of all kinds. Poop, pee and spit up may go flying or spraying on anything around. Let’s have burp cloths, wipes and clean up stuff out and ready!
Get ready to LOVE your baby even more, watching them sleep is such a beautiful thing. However, don’t be surprised if it takes them a good while to get into “baby model mode.” They aren’t used to being handled this much! (I hear a lot of, “They aren’t usually like this.” Well, they aren’t usually picked up every few minutes and posed on props. Eventually they get so tuckered out, they don’t notice.

Fresh 48 Session starting at $150 per hour (includes tax)

The "First 48" or a "Fresh 48" session is a perfect way to capture that brand newness of a newborn in the hospital within the first 48 hours of birth. Since babies come on their own schedule, planning these sessions can be a little more difficult. Before the baby arrives, we'll want to make sure we exchange plenty of information so when the big moment arrives we'll all be ready. Things that I'll need to know are: your names, the hospital you will be delivering at, how soon or how late you would like me to arrive at the hospital during the first 48 hours and what particular moments you would like to have captured.

Typical moments include the setting, emotions expressed by parent holding/looking at their newborn baby, the traditional hospital bassinet with baby, tiny details of the baby, daddy and baby, skin to skin with mommy and first family portrait.

Basic Session Information:
1 hour session at the hospital - you'll be tired so I'll try to work quickly to grab the images you want so you can go back to enjoying your little one and get some much needed rest

Child Session $150 includes tax

A child session is about capturing the personality of child and letting them have fun around the camera. It generally takes a little bit of time (and maybe some bribing) to get the child to warm up to the camera. Do they have a favorite toy, blanket or snack? Please bring it. A relaxed child will allow us to capture some wonderful images and smiles. You'll find if you let your child be themselves they'll create some neat poses on their own. Those are the moments that melt your heart. Feel free to bring your own props or ask me what I have available.

Basic Information:
30-60 minute session (child will definitely let us know when they are done)
1-3 outfit changes
Props (I have stools, chairs, wagons, suit cases, etc available for use)

Sibling or Family Sessions start at $175 includes tax

Getting an annual family picture is a something you’ll treasure for a long time. Your family session should reflect your personalities. Family sessions are never rushed – we want to make sure we get the best shots of everyone. Wondering what to wear or what locations are best? Please ask. There are a lot of options available.

Mini sessions are also available. Please inquire. The session focuses on family images only and is about 30 minutes long. These sessions can be done outdoor at anytime of the year. Sessions in the snow can be a lot of fun!

Basic Session Information:
60 minute session for up to 5 family members (it includes, upon request, a few images of each child/siblings together and parents)

Senior Sessions $175 includes tax

Your senior portraits are all about you. That’s why we’ll take your photos where you want—at the lake, a park, your favorite hangout. Toss in your favorite mix of outfits, add a dash of photo magic and there you are: the star of amazing senior portraits that you’ll treasure for a lifetime.

Mini sessions are also available and start at $125. The session is about 20-25) minutes long and allows for one quick outfit (change of shirt, addition of shirt/jacket/sports attire). It is best to do the mini-session outdoors toward sunset.

Basic Session Information: 45-60 hour session
1-3 outfit changes (each additional $25 each)
1 outdoor location (additional charge for second location)

Maternity Session $150 includes tax

A maternity session is a wonderful way to remember and cherish this all so important time of your life! It can also be a great way to announce a pregnancy, baby gender or the addition of another child to the family.

Basic Session Information:

45 minute session with the focus on the baby bump

Travel fee may apply to session outside of Farmington and the Rochester areas. Please ask. The rate is usually round trip mileage from Farmington to your home divided by 25 mpg times current rate of fuel with a minimum of $15. Want the session in your home? It is an additional $20 set-up charge.

When should I schedule my maternity session?
I recommend that you contact me regarding your session around 30 weeks to insure that we can get a date and time that is suitable for you. Maternity pictures are best done between 27-36 weeks pregnant. With first babies, I recommend waiting until 34-36 weeks, but after your first, anywhere between 27-36 weeks should be fine.

Where should I do my maternity session?
I always encourage outdoor, natural light photos! The best photos are about an hour or so before sunset, and is my absolute favorite time to take maternity images. There several locations that I can recommend. I can also come to your house for your session, and incorporate your babies nursery into the session.

What should I wear?
The most important thing is that you wear what your are comfortable in! Long, flowly dresses, jeans and tank tops, and stretch pants and tee shirts all look great in maternity sessions! Try to avoid really busy shirts (ie. stripes or busy patterns), as this can distract from your belly.

Can I have my husband or other kids in my session with me?
Of course! Having two children myself, I know how important it is to include other children and/family pets in images. It is best to take the images with you and your children first, so then they can run around (with another adult present of course) while we concentrate on getting some images of just you!

What about props?
Blankets, a little pair of shoes, ribbon to tie around your belly or an outfit your child will wear home from the hospital make great props.

Do I have to have bare belly pictures?
Of course not! This session is about you and what makes you comfortable! We can do bare belly pictures, or we can not do them. The choice is yours! If you are worried about stretch marks, they can be edited in the post-processing.
